Spike uses a version of this raised stainless-steel slow feeder, and I love how easy it is to wash thoroughly after every meal. Plastic bowls scratch over time, creating tiny grooves where bacteria and slimy buildup can hide and become much harder to remove. Stainless steel doesn’t eliminate bacteria, but its smooth, non-porous surface reduces the opportunity for buildup and is much easier to keep properly clean.
